For those of us in the city, a flip of the switch banishes darkness and makes night life possible.

For these Dusun primary school children residing in a boarding school in the interior of Sabah, a newly installed solar system enables them to study, even at night. The solar system was donated by YB Yeo Bee Yin (from the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment & Climate Change) while their dormitory was rebuilt late last year by villagers using funds channelled by YB Darrell Leiking, Parliamentarian for Penampang.

Although SK Terian Penampang only has basic facilities, it has dedicated teachers which makes all the difference. The teachers just uploaded this 40 second video and some photos showing the solar panel installation & students studying in well lit rooms . Check out the enthusiasm of these Dusun kids as their dormitory is lit up!
